The women around us are constantly shaping our world for the better, and their work is integral to the success of HDC’s Exemplary Buildings Program (EBP).
Behind us, despite the uncertainties and challenges, the EBP team delivered a year of historic accomplishments in forging a pathway to decarbonization. As we look forward, Women’s History Month offers us an opportunity to celebrate a few key players helping to bring the principles and practices of exemplary building to King County’s affordable housing sector. These women use their unique skills to bring together diverse teams and deliver the strong results that constantly move the needle towards a more equitable and sustainable future for their community. We’ve asked several women and women-led teams to share a bit about their connection to EBP, to reflect on the distinct technical and leadership skills this work draws on, and to offer advice and encouragement to younger women considering a career in an architecture, engineering, and construction (ACE) profession.
